Photography and Travel Adventures: Dare to Dream, Desire to Explore, Discover the Extraordinary

06/08/16 – La Verkin, UT to Bryce Canyon, UT Pt1

We woke up early eager to see Zion National Park. This park is well named because it means a place of peace and refuge. With over 146,000 acres of cliffs, canyons, and uninterrupted beauty, Zion is truly a sanctuary. Its massive sandstone walls offer an opportunity for solitude, serenity and reflection.  A little piece of heaven. Kelly and I are swept away in awe as we hiked a bit. It was like we had the park all to ourselves. I felt so small in a big world, but yet I was part of it’s vastness.

We had stopped at subway before we entered the park so we could have a picnic lunch. We found an area that looked like checked board white sandstone mounds with a stream flowing by it. (Thanks Cindy Shamblen and family for the lunch) It was a perfect spot to eat.  Here are some photos from the day in Zion. Read next post to see photos of Bryce and my ride.
