Today I dedicated my ride to honor PFC Heather Kready for her service and sacrifice for our country. Please honor her and check out her story. Thank you PFC Kready for your service and sacrifice for our freedom. You are a hero!
Eric and I met up with his riding group this morning for a nice 22 mile bike ride. What a great route they have. Makes me think of trying to find a bike group around me when I get home. Lord, I was going fast. Riding with others push you a bit more than riding alone. My average speed was 15mph, What? Yeah, 15mph! I never do that, never! I always blamed Loco for being heavy like a freight train for my slowness. Now, It proves, yep, It’s just me who is slow! Anyway, it was a great morning! We ended with a perfect breakfast with Kelly somewhere downtown. Very lovely!
So there has been another change of plans. I found out that Andrew Beckwith’s team made it to the final game in the CWS and that he was going to be pitching. I had talked to my son last night to see if he wanted to go and if so I’d turn around and go back to Omaha and meet him there. Derek and a few of his friends are flying out tomorrow and I will pick them up at the Omaha airport. Yes this is crazy and totally spontaneous, but how exciting! So after breakfast, Kelly and I headed back to mom and dad’s in IN to spend the night. Kelly will stay here for a few days and I will be with Derek and his friends for a few days in Omaha. This will give my bum more time to heal. This mornings ride, even though enjoyable to ride with Eric and I was pushing myself and went at lightning speeds, it was the most painful ride yet. I am happy to give my bum more time off the saddle!
Eric, Thank you for taking time out of your last two days for hosting Kelly and I and for all the encouragement! It was great catching up and riding with you. Thanks again for all who have supported us through your prayers, encouraging texts, and your donations throughout our journey. You’re the best! We appreciate you so much! Thank you also to those who have supported HFOT. Your donations to them help disabled vets, like PFC Heather Kready, get a chance at reclaiming some of their personal freedoms in a new home. Many thanks!
I will catch up with y’all when we are back in KY ready to ride. Stay blessed!
