“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.”
― Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
Here are a few of my favorite images that I came away with from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park on Oct 17-19. Even though it wasn’t at the peak of color there, I still was delighted to be outdoors getting my feet wet, messing around with my camera, and healing my bruised and aching body after my bike trip. Like Anne Frank said, Nature no mater what the circumstance, will always bring solace. I have posted most of these on my Facebook page, but for those of you who don’t have Facebook hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them.
I’ll be heading to California next week to see my sister and her family. After a few days there I will be heading to immerse myself in Death Valley and it’s geological heaven. I hope to come home with a few good images to show everyone.
